1963 Chevrolet Impala SS 409/425HP Dual Quad 4-Speed
This 1963 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport is a factory 409/425 horsepower car finished in Raven Black over a red vinyl interior and powered by its numbers-matching dual-quad 409ci V8 paired with a 4-speed manual transmission and a 4.11:1 positraction rear end. Originally optioned with the 425HP “dual quad” package, this example features factory GM intake and exhaust manifolds, high-performance heads, and a custom Flowmaster exhaust system. A comprehensive engine rebuild was completed in 2015, during which a hydraulic roller cam was installed, the ignition system was upgraded to electronic, and the car was dyno tuned. Additional recent mechanical updates include a new clutch, throw-out bearing, engine bay wiring, fuel tank and lines, sending units, voltage regulator, and fan shroud.
Finished in its correct Raven Black (900) over a factory-style red Super Sport interior, the car features SS-specific brightwork, a center console, factory tachometer, and bucket seats. Rally-style wheels are fitted with period-correct tires. The body is described as straight and rust-free, and the undercarriage presents solid overall with no reported corrosion. The vehicle retains much of its original factory equipment aside from upgraded Edelbrock carburetors in place of the stock GM units.
Now showing approximately 60k miles, this Impala SS 409 is a strong-running, mechanically sorted example of Chevrolet’s iconic full-size muscle car, and is offered with a clean title and documentation of its mechanical upgrades.
