1965 Ford Mustang Fastback – 347ci Stroker V8 – Restomod Build – Holley EFI – Currie 9” – Raven Black – 339HP / 471TQ Dyno – 2 Owners – 2,700 Miles Since Build
Exterior Condition:
This 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback has been tastefully modified and finished in high-gloss Raven Black, offering a modern take on one of the most iconic American silhouettes. According to the seller, the car underwent a partial restoration and performance build beginning under the prior owner in New York and was completed over the last three years in California.
Some body panels were replaced and stitch-welded for increased chassis rigidity. The body shows straight lines and strong shine, with a noted minor ding on the left-rear fender and slight overhang of the trunk lid. Up front, the grille houses Hella driving lights, and the rear valance is custom cut to accommodate a dual exhaust system with larger tips. Glass, trim, and seals present in good condition. A classic stance is achieved with 15″ American Racing Torq Thrust D wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires (205/60 front, 225/60 rear) with fewer than 500 miles on them.
Interior Condition:
The interior has been reimagined with a driver-focused mix of vintage aesthetics and modern upgrades. Features include TMI leather front and rear seats with suede inserts, sound deadening, and a refinished headliner and dashboard pad. The cabin also includes a Grant GT steering wheel, a leather-wrapped shifter, and a reconditioned center console with a stowable touchscreen to control the Holley Sniper EFI system.
Factory-style audio is retained with a RetroSound radio, complemented by aftermarket gauges. The American Autowire harness supports all functions, though the fuel gauge is reported to occasionally fluctuate. Interior trim and brightwork present well. A Borgeson integral power steering box provides improved feel and modern drivability.
Mechanical & Powertrain:
The mechanical heart of this build is a 347ci Stroker V8 built by Kelly’s Block Welding in Los Angeles, CA. The engine was fully rebuilt, machined, and assembled less than 1,000 miles ago, and produces dyno-verified output of 339.63 horsepower at 5,569 RPM and 471.76 lb-ft of torque at 2,968 RPM.
The build includes:
-
SCAT crankshaft & rods
 -
ICON pistons
 -
ARP fasteners
 -
Edelbrock aluminum cylinder heads
 -
Ford Racing E303 roller camshaft & rockers
 -
Hardened pushrods
 -
Pro Comp intake
 -
Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection system
 -
Ceramic-coated JBA long-tube headers
 -
Custom 2.5″ stainless exhaust w/ DynoMax mufflers

Power is sent through a rebuilt C4 automatic transmission to a Currie Enterprises 9″ rear axle with Torsen-style limited-slip differential and 3.00:1 gearing. A 22-gallon fuel tank houses a 60-psi in-tank fuel pump, supporting EFI performance.
Chassis, Suspension & Brakes:
Upgraded suspension features include KYB shocks, Scott Drake five-leaf rear springs, and refreshed upper/lower control arms, bushings, and ball joints. Steering geometry benefits from a Borgeson box upgrade. Stopping power comes from a four-wheel disc brake conversion, offering confident, modern braking performance.
Undercarriage photos (not shown here) confirm a clean and properly finished underside with no signs of rust or major repair.
Mileage & Ownership History:
The current digital odometer shows 2,700 miles, approximately 2,200 of which were added by the seller in the last 3 years. True chassis mileage is unknown due to the nature of the build. Seller represents this as a two-owner vehicle, originally sold in Massachusetts, then restored in New York before coming to California. Clean California title in hand.
Documentation & Extras:
Includes dyno sheet, recent receipts, and partial modification records. A drive-by video and gallery of underbody photos are available upon request. Factory VIN plate decode confirms original Vintage Burgundy/black 289ci 4-speed spec.
Investment Note:
This 1965 Mustang Fastback combines first-gen collectability with modern mechanicals and driver-focused upgrades. With a professionally built 347 stroker, Holley EFI, and Currie rear-end, it’s a turn-key street machine that balances muscle car heritage with restomod reliability. Show it, cruise it, or drive it daily — this build is ready.
