1968 Triumph TR5 PI – Signal Red, Overdrive, Stainless Exhaust, Recent Mechanical Work

This 1968 Triumph TR5 PI is a rare and well-sorted example of one of the most desirable British roadsters of the 1960s. Finished in classic Signal Red over a black vinyl interior, this example combines the distinctive Michelotti styling of the TR4 with the vastly improved performance of the TR5’s Lucas fuel-injected 2.5-liter inline-six, delivering 150 horsepower and a thrilling exhaust note.

Only 2,947 examples of the TR5 were produced between 1967 and 1968, and unlike the U.S.-bound TR250, which used carburetion to meet emissions requirements, the TR5 retained its mechanical fuel injection, making it the first British production car to do so. This car retains its original drivetrain and includes significant mechanical upgrades and a host of recent service work, including a rebuilt gearbox, new clutch, and more. A stainless-steel exhaust system has been added to enhance its already impressive soundtrack.

The bodywork is in solid driver-level condition with good panel gaps and alignment. The paint shows only minor imperfections, and the trim, including bumpers and brightwork, remains largely intact with some light pitting noted on select chrome components.
