1972 Ford LTD Convertible

This striking 1972 Ford LTD Convertible is a rare find—a top-of-the-line full-size Ford restored with exceptional attention to detail and loaded with every available factory option. Previously owned by a retired Ford Motor Company executive, this car spent much of its life in California before heading to Atlanta, showing all signs of careful preservation and restoration.
The body was stripped to bare metal, with minor dents repaired but no rust present, then resprayed with a deep, glossy three-coat Ford Black paint that gives the car a slick, mirror-like finish uncommon for such a large convertible. All exterior chrome was removed, professionally re-chromed, and flawlessly reinstalled. Classic Ford styling remains intact with turbine wheel covers, cornering lamps, and dual side mirrors with remote adjustment. The convertible’s black canvas top is new and functions perfectly with recently replaced hydraulics.
Inside, the cabin features a clean, crack-free dash, fresh carpets, door panels, and well-maintained seats showing minimal wear. The original Philco AM/FM stereo remains and works as expected. All gauges, switches, and lighting operate properly except for the clock and horn. Power features include windows, driver’s seat, tilt steering, and cruise control, providing luxury and convenience. The factory-installed air conditioning system blows ice-cold air.
Under the hood sits the powerful 429 cubic-inch big-block V8, which received a top-end rebuild in 2018. Aside from an upgraded Pertronix electronic ignition and newer stainless steel exhaust, the drivetrain remains original and in excellent condition. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly, steering is precise, brakes are firm and balanced, and the car drives quietly and comfortably as expected from a low-mileage classic.
The odometer reads approximately 49,000 miles, believed to be original. It runs on regular unleaded fuel and maintains its original styling and factory options throughout.
